Aircon servicing marketing: get found on Google Maps

Guide · 9 min read · Updated 12 Oct 2026

How a Singapore aircon servicing business gets found on Google Maps and turns searches into WhatsApp bookings: profile, reviews, photos and web pages.
maps1234

An aircon servicing business gets found on Google Maps by doing five things well: a complete and honest Business Profile, the right categories and services, a steady flow of reviews that describe real jobs, photos of real work, and a fast WhatsApp reply when someone taps your button. A simple website with service and area pages backs all of that up. None of it is a trick, and none of it guarantees a position, but it is what customers and Google can actually see.

Key takeaways

  • ✓Customers searching for aircon help usually decide fast, so the profile, the reviews and the speed of your first WhatsApp reply decide who gets the job.
  • ✓Set up your profile around what you really do and where you really go. Do not claim areas or services you cannot deliver.
  • ✓Ask every customer for a review, and make it easy to mention the type of job, such as a chemical wash or a gas top-up.
  • ✓Plan for the hot months and the quiet months. Demand is not even across the year.
  • ✓Track where enquiries come from, even if only with a simple tally, so you know what to repeat.

How people actually search for aircon help

Think about the last time your own aircon started blowing warm air at 10pm. You probably did not browse. You typed something like "aircon servicing near me" or "aircon not cold" on your phone, looked at the map results, scanned the ratings, and sent a message to one or two businesses. The first to reply sensibly often wins.

That is the pattern to design for. Singapore homes run aircon for long hours, most of your customers are on a phone, and WhatsApp is the normal way to ask "can you come this week?". So your marketing has to answer three questions in seconds: do you do this job, do you come to my area, and can I trust you?

From search to booking

Each stage is a place a customer can drop away. Your job is to remove the reasons to leave.

Set up your Google Business Profile properly

Your Google Business Profile is the listing that appears on Google Maps and in local search. For an aircon business it is usually more important than your website, because it is where the map result, the reviews and the contact buttons live. If you have not claimed it yet, read our Google Business Profile guide for Singapore and how to verify it.

Name, categories and services

Use your real registered trading name. Adding extra keywords to the name might look clever, but it can break Google's rules and risk your listing. Check the current rules in Google's Business Profile help at support.google.com/business.

Pick one primary category that best describes your main work, then add secondary categories that are genuinely true. Google changes the category list over time, so choose from what the dashboard offers today. Then fill in the services section with the jobs you really do, in plain words:

  • General servicing and cleaning
  • Chemical wash or chemical overhaul
  • Gas top-up and leak checking
  • Repair and troubleshooting (not cooling, water leaking, noisy unit)
  • Installation and relocation of units
  • Servicing for homes, shops or offices, if you do all three

Add a short description for each service where the dashboard allows it. Write it like you would explain to a neighbour: what is included, how long it usually takes, and what the customer should prepare. You do not need to put a price on it.

Service area, not a storefront

Most aircon technicians travel to the customer. In that case you are a service-area business. You can list the areas you serve, such as Tampines, Bedok, Punggol or the whole East, instead of showing a shopfront. If you work from a home address or an HDB flat, Google lets some service-area businesses hide the address. Read our guide on hiding your home address on Google Business Profile and confirm the current rules before you change anything.

Rules about addresses, categories and verification are set by Google and change. Always check the current rules at support.google.com/business before editing your profile.

Only list areas you will realistically serve. If a job in Jurong would take your team two hours of travel from Sengkang, either do not list it or say so on your website. Wasted trips cost you more than a missed enquiry.

Hours and contact

Set honest opening hours and update them for public holidays. Add a phone number that is answered, and a WhatsApp link if your profile offers a place for it. If you do emergency or after-hours callouts, say so in the description and on your website, but only if you truly do them.

Reviews that describe real jobs

A star rating tells a customer you are probably fine. A review that says "chemical wash done on two units in our 4-room flat, technician was on time and showed us the dirty water" tells them you do the job they need. That detail does more work than a generic "good service".

You cannot write or script customer reviews, and you should not offer rewards for them. What you can do is ask every customer, right after the job, and make the review easy to leave. A short prompt that nudges them to mention the service, such as "what did we do for you?", is a fair way to get useful detail. For wording that works, see WhatsApp review request templates and how to get more Google reviews in Singapore.

A review request after a servicing job

WhatsApp message
Hi Mr Tan, thanks for having us today. We serviced the 3 units in your flat and fixed the water leak in the bedroom one. If you have a minute, could you share a short review on Google? It helps other neighbours know what we do. Tell us what we did and how it went, good or bad, and we will read every one. [review link] Thanks again, Alvin, [Business name]
Send it while the customer is still happy, ideally the same evening. Swap in the name, the unit count and your review link. Check Google's current review policy before you send.

Notice what this message does not do. It does not ask only happy customers, it does not offer a discount, and it does not tell the customer what to write. Asking everyone is the safe, honest approach. If a customer has a problem, you want to know, and Google reviews that look curated tend to read as less trustworthy anyway.

Reply to every review

Replies are public and future customers read them. Thank people by name, mention the job, and keep the tone calm. For a poor review, acknowledge the issue, say what you will do, and move the detail to a private chat. Our guide on replying to a negative Google review walks through this. With Website.sg, replies to Google reviews are drafted by AI and you approve every one before it is posted, so a tired Friday night does not produce a sharp reply.

A reply to a review about a late arrival

Defensive

We were stuck in traffic and you did not answer our calls. Not our fault. Technician did a good job in the end.

Calm and useful

Hi Mrs Lim, thank you for the feedback and sorry we ran late. We should have messaged you before the slot started. We have asked our team to send a WhatsApp update whenever they are running behind. Glad the leaking unit is working again.
Write replies for the next customer who reads them, not only for the reviewer.

Photos of real jobs

Customers want to see that you are a real team doing real work. Skip stock photos. Good job photos for an aircon business include:

  • A technician in a uniform or with a company tag at a customer's unit (with permission)
  • Before and after shots of a dirty coil or drain pan during a chemical wash
  • Your van or toolbox with the business name visible
  • The outdoor condenser being checked, or a leak test in progress
  • A tidy finish: drop sheets down, floor wiped, area left clean

Never show a customer's face, full unit number, or personal belongings without consent. Under the PDPA you should treat identifiable images as personal data, so ask first and crop out house numbers. The official guidance is at pdpc.gov.sg. Add a few new photos every month so the profile looks active.

Make WhatsApp the booking path

Many Singapore customers would rather send a WhatsApp message than fill in a form or wait on hold. Put a WhatsApp button on your profile where possible and on every page of your website. Then make the first reply fast and useful. A customer who gets "Hello, how can I help?" three hours later has often already booked someone else.

Website.sg sets up web chat and an instant WhatsApp auto-reply, plus follow-up, so a late-night enquiry gets an acknowledgement straight away and does not sit unanswered until morning. Your WhatsApp number is bought separately (from Twilio), and the domain is also separate from the plan. For ideas on what to say, see WhatsApp auto-reply setup.

An auto-reply for aircon enquiries

Auto-reply
Hi, thanks for contacting [Business name]. We got your message and will reply within [time you can keep]. To help us quote faster, please send: 1. Type of job (servicing, chemical wash, leak, not cold, install) 2. Number of units and your area 3. A photo of the unit or the problem, if you can We will suggest a slot after that.
Keep it short. The goal is to acknowledge, ask the three details you need, and set expectations.

Plan around hot months and quiet months

Aircon demand is not flat. Many owners see a rush when the weather is hot and humid, and a lull in cooler, rainy stretches. The exact timing varies, so look at your own booking history rather than copying someone else's calendar. Then plan around it.

A seasonal rhythm to adapt

Use your own records to fill in the real months. This is a pattern to test, not a forecast.

  1. Before the hot spell

    Prepare

Refresh photos, update services, remind past customers a service is due.

  2. Peak weeks

    Protect response time

Keep auto-reply honest about slot availability. Pause or narrow your service area if you are full.

  3. After a peak

    Collect reviews

Ask every customer you served, then reply to each review.

  4. Quiet weeks

    Build assets

Write service pages, add area pages, tidy the pipeline and follow up quotes that went cold.

A good use of the quiet period is a reminder list. People who had a service last year are likely due again, and a short WhatsApp reminder is more useful than a cold ad. Check the PDPC rules on marketing messages before sending reminders to a list, and read PDPA and WhatsApp marketing in Singapore.

Website pages that support your Maps listing

Your website does not need dozens of pages. It needs the right ones, each saying one clear thing. For the longer picture see home services website in Singapore.

Pages and features worth having

Service pages

  • Aircon servicing
  • Chemical wash
  • Aircon repair and leak fixing
  • Installation and relocation
  • Gas top-up (only if you do it)

Area pages

  • One page per area you genuinely cover
  • Local details, such as common flat types and typical issues
  • Your real photos from jobs in that area
  • A WhatsApp button and phone number on each page

Trust and basics

  • Business name, UEN and contact details
  • A few real reviews, quoted accurately
  • Warranty terms in plain words, if you offer any
  • A short FAQ about what happens on the day

Avoid copying the same paragraph onto twenty area pages with only the place name swapped. It reads badly to customers and is the sort of thing search engines tend to discount. Write each area page for a person who lives there. Our local SEO checklist covers the basics.

What tends to matter most for a local aircon business

A judgement from how local search works, not a measured ranking. Your results will vary.

Small effectBig effect
Honest, complete profile

Categories, services, area and hours.

Reviews with job detail

Steady, recent and replied to.

Fast first reply

Wins the booking after the click.

Real job photos

Builds trust and shows you are active.

Service and area pages

Support the profile and answer questions.

Avoid fake claims and shortcuts

When competitors show hundreds of reviews it is tempting to cut corners. Do not. Fake reviews, bought reviews, fake addresses and keyword-stuffed names can lead to suspended profiles and lost trust. If you suspect a competitor is posting fake reviews, read how to report fake Google reviews.

Honest marketing for aircon servicing

Do

  • ✓Use your real name, areas and services
  • ✓Ask every customer for a review
  • ✓Post real job photos with permission
  • ✓Say what is included and what is extra, without quoting a number you cannot keep
  • ✓Answer WhatsApp quickly and set a realistic slot

Avoid

  • ✕Claim 'cheapest' or '#1' without proof
  • ✕Add areas you do not serve
  • ✕Offer discounts in exchange for reviews
  • ✕Stuff keywords into your business name
  • ✕Show customer homes or faces without consent

Track what is working

You do not need a dashboard to start. Every time a new enquiry arrives, note where it came from: Google Maps, website, a referral, a repeat customer, a flyer. After a month you will see which source actually produces bookings. Website.sg gives you one inbox for WhatsApp, web chat and forms, a pipeline to move each enquiry from new to booked, tasks for follow-ups, and simple reports. Even if you track on paper, keep the habit.

A simple weekly routine

  1. 1

    Check the inbox

Reply to anything waiting, then tag the source.

  2. 2

    Ask for reviews

Send requests for the week's finished jobs.

  3. 3

    Reply to reviews

    Thank and answer each one.

  4. 4

    Add a photo

One real job photo to the profile.

  5. 5

    Follow up quotes

    Nudge anyone who went quiet.

A scenario: a two-technician team in the East

Imagine "CoolFix Aircon", two technicians based in Tampines. They set the profile to a service-area listing covering Tampines, Bedok, Pasir Ris and Simei, with services for servicing, chemical wash, leak repair and installation. They stop listing Jurong. After each job they send the review message above. Over a few months their reviews begin to mention "chemical wash" and "water leak" by name, and customers start opening with "I saw your reviews about leaking units, can you come?".

We are not promising that result for you. It shows the mechanism: specific profile, specific reviews, a fast reply and a clear service area make the enquiry easy to say yes to.

Your next step

Pick one thing this week: complete your profile, send your first batch of review requests, or set up an auto-reply. If you would rather have the website and the enquiry system set up for you, see what the Website.sg plan includes. Frequently asked questions

Do I need a website if I already have a Google Business Profile?
A profile gets you into map results, but a website gives you room to explain services, show area pages and photos, and add a WhatsApp button and forms. Many customers check both. See our guide on whether you still need a website.
Can I list areas I do not live in?
Service-area listings are meant for areas you actually travel to. List only places you really serve, and check Google's current rules at support.google.com/business.
Is it okay to offer a discount for a review?
It is safer not to. Google's policies restrict incentivised reviews, so check the current policy before you try anything. Ask every customer politely and make it easy instead.
How often should I add photos?
A few new real photos each month is a sensible habit. Quality and permission matter more than volume.
What if a competitor has far more reviews than me?
Do not chase their number. Ask every customer you serve, reply to each review, and let the detail in your reviews speak. Reviews build over time, and nothing here guarantees a ranking.
